One of the standout dishes at Tasquinha Da Paula is the classic Portuguese bacalhau (salted cod). The result is a rich, savory dish that is both comforting and satisfying. The bacalhau here is tender and flavorful, making it a must-try for anyone visiting the restaurant.

For those who prefer meat, the porco à alentejana is a flavorful option. This dish features tender pork cooked with clams, garlic, and spices, creating a mouth-watering combination of savory and briny flavors. It's a perfect example of how Portuguese cuisine often blends land and sea in a deliciously harmonious way.

  • We tried to go to this place last night for dinner just before 8:30 PM and it was packed, unfortunately they weren’t taking any more seatings as the rest of the night was booked with reservations. So we tried again today for lunch. Waited about 45 minutes to be seated in about another 30 minutes to be served. Super busy place with a tiny kitchen, but everyone was so friendly and clearly passionate about what they do. Seems to be a very small operation with a lot of love that goes into their food. We got to try their house piri piri sauce with peppers grown from their own garden. You’re typical little Portuguese tavern in a random alleyway. Worth the visit and the wait.

  • Very tasty dishes, in extremely good price. Ventilation is not very strong, after we left the restaurant our clothes smell like fried codfish. Owners, a couple, don't speak any foreign language and they are not so polite.

  • Very good food! I had the bacalhau a bras, which was quite warming. But be warned, it might be slightly dry for those who have never had it before, because it is shredded cod which makes the moisture content of the dish lower. Still very delicious! Also had the cod croquette and the shrimp patty and both were very yummy. The cod croquette was a standout for me, it was so creamy and delicious. I went a little bit past 12 on a monday and it didn't seem terribly busy. But by 12:30 the restaurant was half full, so do come early especially on a weekend!

  • Super busy place with a tiny kitchen, but everyone is friendly and clearly passionate about what they do. I came here for the first time in 2022 and took a picture of myself with the owner. Showed him the picture and we had a good laugh! I took another one with him! It is a very small operation with a lot of love that goes into their food. You’re typical little Portuguese tavern in a random alleyway. Worth the visit and the wait.

  • We had a fabulous meal here, and we were very lucky to be able to turn up just after 7pm and get a table for 2 immediately (which seems pretty unusual if the reviews are anything to go by). The food was delicious, very authentic local cuisine, and the wine was excellent and very reasonably priced. They only take cash (no cards), and it is probably worth booking ahead if you can, but this place is definitely worth a visit! Also worth noting, they seem to have employed an English-speaking waiter now, so we had no problem communicating, despite my very limited command of Portuguese.

  • Before you enter, speak only Portuguese. Wait. Be patient. Be kind. Cash only. You will be rewarded with excellent food, friendly service* *like in Paris, speak the the local language, even poorly, get kind service. Hello. (Bom dia). Uma mesa para quatro? Reservados? Non. Wait patiently. Sit there. Obrigada. We saw dozens of people turned away. This place gets busy because it’s so good. They don’t take . Good food takes time, not the longest we’ve waited in Porto, but omg good. Bacalhau à Brás, a Braga, assador. Plus grilled pork. House wine. Wonderful soup. House water. 4 hungry people. Pudim. 76€, including a caixa for leftovers.

  • Traditional Portuguese restaurant, cozy and not to many tourists. You need to book in advance or you won’t find a place! The woman that is cooking is incredibly nice and her food even better. We tried Oporto wine here, from a small barrel which was so good. For eating we took some appetisers with Bacalhau, meat and shrimps and after the Bacalhau a Braga and Alheira with egg and chips, this one was super good They also have home made desserts and they serve them in huge portions so be ready to eat a lot!
